ROBOVENT is to support or assist breathing. Robovent is often needed by patients who cannot breathe on their own, either because of an illness or because of a serious injury. The purpose of using this tool is so that the patient gets adequate oxygen intake.

Patient Coditions Requiring ROBOVENT Products:

1.) Severe lung disorders, such as respiratory failure, ARDS (acute respiratory distress syndrome), severe asthma, pneumonia, COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease), and pulmonary edema (pulmonary edema).
2.) Nervous system disorders causing respiratory muscle weakness, coma, or stroke.
3.) Heart problems, such as heart failure, heart attack, or cardiac arrest. 4.) Carbon dioxide poisoning.

The Risks When Using ROBOVENT Products:

1.) Injuries to the mouth and throat due to intubation.
2.) Lung infection, usually due to the entry of germs through a breathing tube attached to the throat.
3.) Injury to the lung and leakage of air into the cavity outside the lungs (pneumothorax).
4.) Loss of ability to cough and swallow, so that phlegm or mucus in the airways can accumulate and interfere with the entry of air. The doctor or nurse will perform suctioning periodically to remove this phlegm or mucus.
5.) Oxygen poisoning.
